I get this strange feeling that Sandusky will not survive long in prison. IMO, Sandusky really believe he didn't do anything wrong, because it probably was somewhat the norm in Happy Valley. I recently asked a White lady from Pennsylvania about the scandal that took place in Happy Valley. At first, she pretended as if she didn't know what I was talking about when I said Happy Valley. It took her teenage son to jar her memory. Once she realized what I asked her, she tried to blame the victims by saying, " why they didn't say anything when it happen". Again, I had to remind her that the victims were only 9, 10, 11, and 12 years old and individuals at that age probably found it difficult and embarrassing to explain. IMHO, this was/is some sick cultural that took place in Happy Valley.

Some of those victims, when they were young, did tell adults about Sandusky molesting them. However, many in positions of authority did not believe the kids at the time.

That might be true, but the dead man is/was the largest figure known to Penn State's football program. After the death of Robert Champion at FAMU, the media made it known that hazing was part of some type of cult ritual that secretly goes on with all HBCUs band programs. The same should apply to Penn State and other White football programs when it comes to child molestations and cover-ups.

Could you elaborate on your comment? I don't think i am getting to point you are trying to make here. Most of the comments I read are directed toward the University. No one is saying much about paterno. Although, if you think is hands are clean I have a bridge for sale. Paterno was the most powerful man in PA. After he was informed about the alegations and passed it on to his highers for them to handle, paterno still allowed that pervert on the sideline. The abuse continued as well so no way in hell you can convince me his hands were clean. IMHO, dead or not their is no defense for what was going on for him or anyone else in power.

I read somewhere it was bing said that paterno died from a broken heart. I figure if so, his heart was broken because people found out what he allowed his right hand man to do right in front of those thick arse glasses.

Also, Sandusky will be placed in protective custody. What will more than likely happen is that he will be placed in an isolation cell where he is held 23 hours a day. Once evaluated he will move to an SPU (Special Prisoner Unit) where prisoners have mental disorders and cannot live in the general population. Yet, with Sandusky 10 years is a life sentence. Truth be told he will not survive prison because he will be sentenced to at least/minimum 100 years.

Penn St. will pay for the civil suits. More folks will be fired.

I don't know what act the NCAA can or will take as this is one of the more unique cases in college sports history, considering a high-ranking athletic staff member was involved. But if the NCAA came out and said they were going to ban the Penn State football program for two, three or however many years, I wouldn't be opposed to it.

At the end of the day, the football program and its revered head coach, became bigger than the school and the community at large. You take out the football program and that hurts everyone associated with the school, and sends a message that a sport or man or men are not more important than the well-being of human lives. What Penn State officials did was reckless and inhumane.

And let's be real here. The adults involved are the ones who should pay for this. Not the football program. You get rid of the INDIVIDUALS. Not every Penn State employee there knew about Sandusky and the football players post Sandusky being there after 99 probably had no clue either outside of maybe hearing some rumor or something. The coaching staff is new and the two administrators who helped cover up this are up on Federal charges. The stigma of this will cost Penn State a lot of money over the years. As for Happy Valley knowing something about Sandusky. Probably. But you can't penalize Penn State football program for that. If you do, you open the pandora's box for individuals committing crimes shutting down your program. If members of your coaching staff get in trouble with the law and school officials cover it up, do you suspend the sports program? Or do you fire every mofo involved and let the judicial process take it place? I could understand if Sandusky and Penn State players were involved in this year after year and he used them to recruit young boys. Then you have a football culture problem. THe only issue was Joe Pa was so big that no one dared question his judgement. But the man is dead. Do I think he knew about his boy Sandusky being a pedophile. Absolutely. Did he stick he pass the buck to his superiors and not do enough? Absolutely. But his dumb arse superiors could have done more as well. Them mofos were even more of a coward than Joe. Joe probably didn't want to believe it but knew it was true. Those clowns who were in charge of Penn State should have called the State Police on Sandusky immediately. Same for McCready sorry arse too. All the adults in this deal failed Penn State and those victims. Which is terrible. But those football players who have played at Penn State who have went to class and did what they were supposed to on and off the field do not deserve to be punished for something that don't involve them or the football team. This involves a bunch of coward arse adults who need to be punished as individuals. Penn State is a victim too. I do not believe all those professors there believe in this isht for one minute and the Penn State board who was trying to get rid of Joe Pa for years probably feel like damn, if we only knew. They could have gotten him like they wanted. It is a sad situation all around. The victims being silenced by coward adults and all the good that Joe Pa did do being tarnished by his inability to send his friend and ex assistant coach to jail when he FIRST found out, whenever that was. Now the town of State College has to ask themselves how long have they known. Did Sandusky Daddy do him that way? He was from there and grew up there. So it makes you wonder how many people outside of Penn State kept this on the low.

Nah. Penn State aint a catholic school. That would be Notre Dame and Boston College as the big PWC Catholic schools. Penn State is a Land Grant school and like J4L said, they are a public school. They are just like LSU.

Everyone affiliated with Penn St. athletics did not hide it so why punish all? They suspended the entire band because there was something deeply rooted in the structure. So you would suspend the entire athletic department?

Dont see how people support banning FAMU band but think this is ok and the program shouldnt be punished for it..... the Media ran our organzation in the ground in pushed us like we are some kind of beast, we are still tucking and running everytime they think of the word hazing.... but this is ok, right

I don't know if they can sue his estate. But Penn State is going to write checks. Especially since some of this happened on their campus. They are a state school. So the state of PA and Penn State going to be on the hook for some money. That Paterno money is already long gone and protected somewhere. Joe Pa was moving everything out of his name before he died. His lawyers made sure that his money was going to be protected. Plus Joe's money he left is chump change compared to what they can get out of Penn State. His image is tarnished, so his family will not be able to make any money off any of his stuff like others who have capitalized off the death of their famous relative. His estate became less valuable once all this came out. This just made Bear Bryant (to the white folks) even more legendary.

The notion that Penn State football and its coach was some sort of deity that can't be touched is the reason why the football operations should be suspended because it enabled Jerry Sandusky to prey on innocent children and his crimes be covered up by school officials. We all saw how students rioted on campus the day Paterno was fired and all the people camped out on his lawn every day shortly thereafter. Penn State football embodies that school and community.

Sure, Penn State will have to pay out the rear financially for a long time, but the football team won't be punished nearly as much. The Nittany Lions had the third ranked recruiting class in the B1G this past offseason. And once the games start, folks will be the same football zombies they were before all this Sandusky stuff went down.
