Alcorn to name new Head coach on Memorial Day

I'm not mad at Alcorn...he actually has better coaching history than 90% of the coaches in the SWAC.....some of the SWAC coaches have jumped from team to team.....worst part is when you go from being a head coach at a SWAC school to an assistant coach at another SWAC school....:emlaugh:

Everybody talking bout the man using this as a stepping stone...So what....Name one school in the SWAC who hasn't had a coach leave for other opportunities white or black. Hell, it aint no secret, money drives everything..Who wouldn't jump at the opportunity to make more money if the chance arises! If anything, this is nothing but a positive light for the SWAC! Thanks Alcorn for not recycling!

Sad, we as black folk continue to harp on ignorance..live and let go....One thing as a whole the conference will have to do is include more diversity in order to regain the prominence we once had.
 



This may very well be an interesting Journey. If this man duplicates the success of a certain basketball coach in the CIAA, y'all in trouble. :lol: :emlaugh: It will also be interesting to see if he can recruit white lineman to Alcorn. Like I said, this is going to be interesting....A game changer? We will see........

This dude is no Dave Robbins. If he is successful, he'll be on the first thing smoking out of Lorman. Keeping it 100, Lorman is not Richmond, VA. :lol:

i keep up with all schools as well as we all do on here. if we didnt none of us would have anything to talk about on here or anywhere. also my mom, wife, brother in law, other relatives attended and is currently attending jsu and other schools. also have family work there. anything good that happend to others and not jsu, many of u do have something crazy to say. tell me, will yal hire a OC before the season? also, who is going to be QB cause when casey got hurt in the classic, a different jsu was exposed. if yal have a bad season or even lose to us, i really want to hear what excuses will be made. all teams dont remain on the bottom. yal barely beat valley with casey and now yal have them for HC without casey. we have been on the bottom for awhile in football and the only way we can go is up. no excuses here at all. even Dr. Brown said it himself.

THANK YOU!!!! Some people don't understand that once a coach tastes that FBS Money, its hard to give up. The taste is always there.
 



My only thing is that I hate we put him in a VERY bad position with VERY bad timing.

But it is like I say, that FBS Money is hard to give up once you taste it, especially when you are making it in a city instead of in the country.

BTW JSU, Wilson already exposed you enough for what you "really" are. Must we go even deeper?

Wilson didn't expose anybody but himself. He wanted Comegy's job and once he found out he wasn't going to get it, he bolted. Can't blame him though. His offense was only as good as Casey could take him.
No sweat off our backs he's gone. You can believe that.

Now back to Coach Bubba.....
 
BH just realized something......It really sucks to be a JSU Tiger Fan:

The one sport you can brag somewhat in is football. But Grambling has raped you so many times, you really can't claim football anymore. I rather have not went to a meaningless Championship Game then get raped 41-9 on National Television.

As for the other sports, Luther Riley beat you twice, and your supposed Championship Baseball Squad lost in the tournament.

JSU Athletics must have fell on hard times. And to top it all off, Comegy is retired like Pete.
 
I remember a JSU pre-2000s that didn't cry. But this new batch of JSU Folks....:smh::smh::smh:.

I blame Southern for starting JSU's crying. Yall beat them twice in the same season in 1999 then turned around five years later and beat them 45-7. They haven't been same since....:smh::smh::smh:.

God Bless Pete Richardson and God Bless James Bell a little more than Pete.

Great hire Alcorn, now lets get to work seems like he has a blue print in place and know what he wants and how he's gone to get it..
Even tho this came late, better late then never.

I'd also like to state a few people on this board is very sad, and with that mind state you will never go far or be capable of living up to your potential cause you let things like color or anything hold you back..Its very sad. But anywho thats contrary to the hire. Im happy they finally hired and ill be behind him and our braves all the way

Dude, quite riding another school's gonads and be proud that Alcorn is FINALLY getting SOME attention, whether good or bad. Being from there, you should be used to being ignored.
 
Great hire Alcorn. I have heard about Hopson's work from a few of my co-workers who know him well. I have been told that he is going to bring some talent to Lorman, but focus more on using his contacts to bring in SEC transfers, and JUCO stars from Pearl and MSGCC. This could play out very well and turn things around fast.

Some of you Mississippi people need to grow the hell up. This is a great day in HBCU history. Some of these comments are just sad. Alcorn made a very smart hire. Good luck to the Braves.
 
He's getting $150k a yr.
How long is his contract? I honestly believe this is the coach that will be in Lorman for a while :tup:
