Obama thinking about supporting 'Gay Marriage' as a platform.


I look at it this way....Regardless to what some believe the president is over a NATION. He is doing EXACTLY what he was elected to do, REPRESENT AMERICANS. America is made up of ALL kinds of people black, white, asian, hispanics, christians, muslims, jews, non believers, atheists, gays, bi, straight, transsexuals, unisexuals, transgendered, etc. He has to represent this nation based upon what is fair and just. Protecting the rights of all Americans. I don't agree with the homosexuality/lesbianism lifestyle, but I do agree with him protecting and standing up for the rights of those individuals.

Heck no - that was a joke Top Dog. I am originally from Texas and I know Ron Paul's racist history. He will switch parties though. His name is a mainstay on the ballot. He just got more pub this year since he ran as a republican.

I see and respect that approach. That is what makes balancing religion and politics hard for some people. If he can sleep at night, then that means he believes in his heart that the decision he made was right with him and his relationship with God. I know many could not, which is why we aren't the leader of a nation and he is. I would not want to be in that position as a Christian. Just being honest.

I feel you. He can't run this nation on religious dogma. Same sex marriage is not a religious matter, it's a civil matter, IMO.

marriage has been around since forever.. the whole "religious" crap started in after 1563...

There appeared to be many marriages taking place without witness or ceremony in the 1500's. The Council of Trent was so disturbed by this, that they decreed in 1563 that marriages should be celebrated in the presence of a priest and at least two witnesses. Marriage took on a new role of saving men and women from being sinful, and of procreation. Love wasn't a necessary ingredient for marriage during this era.

Years later, the Puritans viewed marriage as a very blessed relationship that gave marital partners an opportunity to not only love, but also to forgive.

If those people want to marry let that marry! But dont through church up as a reason b/c thats not a valid argument... as marriage was a done in its origin to gain/save land & other materials. smdh.. if bob & john or suzie & sally want to marry.. by all means they should be able too!

My thing is...when does it stop? If this is okay...then why can't some crazy guy marry his mother...he ain't hurting nobody. They are two consenting adults. What is the reason this can't be a marriage as well? Why can't a brother and sister get married? What is wrong with it? They are two consenting adults.

What makes this Wrong?

Government's shouldn't issue marriage certificates. The word marriage should be removed from the government dictionary.
 
America has to be the most hypocritical country with the most confused folks in the world. Americans wanna separate State and church, yet they still wanna regulate everything using the church. Doesn't the constitution state separate the church and state?

Constitution? What's that? The government has not adhered to that document in decades.

We deserve at least that from him.

I think alot of my frustrations with Obama now is just out right jealousy. Jealousy of the G&L community. In this 1st term he's really stuck his neck out for them. Why not us? We stay losing man...smh. If we can't even gett the 1st black president to go to bat for us then we must be doing something wrong. How can we get what we need out of the President? Why can't we hold him accountable to us?
 



I will say this. This was one of the worst political moves I have seen though. The President may have just cost the democrats the senate.

Most of those rich folks swing and do sick freaky stuff. Heck for that matter there are so many down low people men and women that he will win. Don't be stupid to think fags ain't got pull.

I agree with you 100% and I don't think this will necessarily cause Obama the race but could hurt some of the close senate races and give the pubs the Senate.

I was just discussing this with a guy I work with. He agree's that it is a poor choice right now, but he stated what you said...their pull in corporate america. He thinks they will come out swinging & fighting like never before for him...through commercials & other forms of mass media. It is nothing wrong with any of this. But man, we just can't keep getting ignored man. We've got to do something to start getting our voices heard. Our Votes can't just be taken for granted like this. We've got to get the Democrats focusing on some of these things if we are going to continue to vote for them in a 90% rate. This is all I'm trying to say here.

We are so easy to divide and conquer. We have way bigger issues, and we are worried about something that grown folks will continue to do whether they vote it in as a law or not. I have been saying for the longest that the Democrats are taking our votes here in Mississippi for granted. Go blindly vote for Bennie Thompson and that's it. Not holding him accountable to the fact that despite being one of the most powerful Dems in Washington, Wicker and Cochran (GOP) have pulled in twice the fed money that Bennie has for our district.

Or how our state representatives for this area (Democrats) do nothing but look out for themselves. We gotta hold a fire to them to make them do better.

Man do NOT get me started on Bennie Thompson & that delta area. Its a crying shame. My late Aunt ran against him and lost but she atleast spoke truth to the way that guy has not been handling business for that area.
 
The good thing about it all is for you small minded people worried about who is getting married, the party of No, has something good in line for you and your kids. Don't worry it will be felt by your children kids too. :tup:
