Now that football season is over, the focus shifts to recruting

I swear you gotta be either mildly retarded or just blinded by hate. I said clearly Valley is getting better and POSTED the statistics to PROVE that point. You never add anything CONSTRUCTIVE to a thread. Folks ask a simple question and instead of adding to the topic with ACTUAL football talk you come in spewing negativity and smack. If you don't know what JSU needs in recruiting just fall back and let JSU posters that are actually in the know comment on this topic and leave your posts for the Smack Board.

Dude, you posted stats and I agreed with them. Then I posted stats and obviously becasue you only want the positives to shine on Valley, you didn't like my additional stats. Oh well. That's not how it works.

All the reps in the world is not gonna prepare McDonald to be a QB...He has all the intangibles but lack the most important trait that a QB should have....Confidence, he has NONE!!!! Knowing you deserve to be out there and noone can stop you. He needs to go see the Wizard!!!!

GR just being funny man.

JSU needs

3 good Olinemen 1 JUCO
3 WRs
1 top notch QB...if not top not, we can go with Champman/McDonald
No RBs unless its a no brainer...we have 4 good RBs
1 highschool TE
3 DLs 1 DE
2 LBs
4 DBs

Wasnt that a freshman TE who made that last grab agains Grambling? We can work with him. #13 can move over there as well.

We can win 7 games with Chapman. Any more than that requires a better QB.

Can McDonald play WR at all? If he loses the QB battle, we don't need him as a back-up when is a senior. I think we should let the younger guys get that time in. If McDonald is the starter, fine...if not, just let him ride his scholly out. I think the perfect time for McDonald to shine was at the Alcorn game back in 2010. We were playing a sorry Alcorn team and we NEEDED him. He needed one good showing for us to believe in him and we never saw it. Now, i will say that being a back-up in this system is not a good thing. Aside from the magical night in Texas when Washington lit up TxSo for a comeback win in a similar offense, QB-WR combos take time.

The sad thing is we have to start the season with MS State so we won't learn anything about our team. All we can do is hope that TNState is sorry so we can figure this QB thing out. I wanna play Valley or TxSo in September...followed by AAMU and SU...

New policy per our APR reform...It's a temp thing...JUCO's

Well, maybe those in the proper authority know what they are doing but from what I can tell, bringing in JUCOs is not bad as long as the school makes sure they have enough hours that will stick. That has to be a hard thing however. One of my students last week asked me to send my syllabus to a university she was transferring to. That school actually called me to try to see if she could use my class. Turns out, she probably can't because I teach a MW class from 5 to 6:15. If I taught the class from 5 to 6:30, they would have accepted it. This would be more work on behalf of the university but I don't think we should lose kids just becasue they are JUCO if they have the requisite credit hours. But maybe this rule is becasue it's hard to get a JUCO qualified. Delta State is recruiting nothing but JUCOs. Many D2s should be able to benefit from APR.

The fact that "S" teams are more discipline than yours will pay huge dividends in 2012. The problem with the other teams and coaches is they lack control. UAPB case and point and the other SWAC schools except the "S" are just like them.

DMac was hurt during the Alcorn game. Can't blame him on that. He's had plenty of opportunities in the past, he just doesn't have it at QB. And no he can't play WR.

I've seen this story before - it doesn't end well. Trust me on this. I was probably the last Bell hold out, talking just like you. BB members can verify this. Get off the Stump train now. Yall were no better at the end of this season than you were at the end of last season. If anything you were worse.

"S" is a man that actually been somewhere and is going places (Thanks GR.....I don't quote you very often). :emlaugh:

After looking at Southern this you guys were like 1 or 2 players away on offense and defense from being pretty good..You guys always had a nice return game....Do you think Stump is gonna stick with the Pro-Style Offense or let them Air it out more?

I think everybody in the SWAC needs upgrades in facilites except Bama State!
SU don't need to upgrade our football facilities is 2 years old lol.
