what we were refering to is the amount of Augusta ppl while we were in the band...the 2-3 was a slight, and i emphasis slight, exageration...when 8 to 5 and I were there those three u named plus about 2-3, if that many, more were in the band...now what happened before us we really don't know, and i'm only speaking for myself when i say this and i'm not tryin to be disrespectful but i really didn't care where people were from as long as they were quality musicians, and yes those three u named were quality musicians, actually some of the best that I saw and heard with my own two eyes and ears...so like u said its all love in the end we weren't saying no one came from Augusta its just not THAT many that have come through from my knowlege...now it may have been some that did come through that i didn't know they were from there just knew they were RDO :tup:

This I can totally believe because again.. IT SHOWED!!! JSU was very sloopy them years on the field and surely sounded nothing like the BOOM bands such as 2000-2003...
You came in on what was considered the WORST JSU band ever... that dayum 04'...Man that schit was horrible..

I wasn't referring to any particular season, I mean OVER THE YEARS. They all consistantly say the same things... We both apparently misunderstood each other. Damn forums....

I wouldn't even pretend to know anything about trash! I tend to distance myself from that... The Jstank bands you marched in surely operated differently from the JSU bands my peers and a few that came in after me operated....

To the alumni/old heads: We understand where yall are coming from due to the love of the craft, the musicianship, and the era that you were birthed into your band, and that alone validates your emotion and credibility on some of these topics.

Just don't let your arrogance make you believe a moving car won't run your azz over. Most of the bands in the swac, contrary to what some may believe, will wax your azz if you sleep on them. Every band has pros and cons. Just because you like hamburgers and this dude likes pizza doesn't make your meal BETTER!!! Because at the end of the day, its all food.

....however, if his burger is well dressed and your pizza is half-cooked, then you have a problem. :)

First of all the BOOM doesn't suck; they've got some things they need to work on, but what SWAC band doesn't?!?!?!?! Get off your high horse, because SU got things they need to work on too (even on the field and especially in the stands).

You don't even know me well enough nor have you ever really been around me enough to know exactly how I feel ALL the time about my band. I've only seen you in person twice, one of an ONLY time I may have said something I didn't like on the field about the Boom. But that's just it, Jared. ONCE! And that was maybe 3-5 years ago. So WTF are you talking about???? You just took that and still freakin' running with it. :xeye: That's about the most craziest stuff I have ever heard of. So glad our conversations are so etched in your minds that you can remember every little thing I've ever said. Dayum.

You continously use ONE event (and one that hardly remember that stays stuck in that brain of yours) to say that I don't like my own band. You are a CERTIFIED NUT, you hear me?! C-R-A-Z-Y. :lol:

I have other interests, dude. A life.... Try getting one and stop taking all this so seriously. Goodness. :smh:

Every band out there has its history, style, and tradition. SU's is brassy and loud with a few WW thrown in just to say that you have them. Their arrangers write to that signature. No HBCU can out-SU the Jukebox. That's fine - if that is what you like. I mean if you put 18 speakers on 9 300-watt amps in my old '76 Honda Civic (I loved that car), turned up the volume and sent it rattling down the road with every thump of the bassline and thought it was the coolest thing going, then people like you love the sound of Jukes. For the record, no one who knows and loves the tradition of JSU wants to sound like a raggety-behind jukebox/Whirlitzer/Victrola. We recruit and deploy plenty of WW players that we actually want to hear in our marching band. We like arrangements that only occasionally send trumpets above Middle G so that the alto and tenor voicing actually enhances the balance of the chord structure. The real depth of the JSU marching band that we know and love is woven into the sonority, color, and timbre of the arranging and execution. You can't get that out of a ~BOX...it only comes with a BOOM!

So, keep your MP3-player-through-desktop-computer-speakers, ITunes download sound in Baton Rouge. We don't want it.
