the short comings of your own athletic program?

Do any of you really know the difference between the decisions your athletic programs make versus the decisions that come out of the SWAC office?

Do you really know what you think you really know? Or do you just repeat things you hear other people say because it sounds good.

Case in point. Some of you JSU folks actually blame the SWAC, BC or TDC for your inability to go to the playoffs. But yet, your administrators agreed to go with the current setup of the SCG. Why is that?

I think you're confused. Using JSU as an example, we haven't fielded a playoff caliber team since 1999. Therefore even if i wanted to, i can't blame the SWAC for us not participating. If we do get to the point where we're a perennial top-10 team that's forced to compete in the SCG, then I will blame not the SWAC but our administration for not doing what's necessary for us to prove ourselves on the D-1AA's biggest stage. I'm willing to bet that most pro-playoff JSUers would agree with this statement.

I do blame the SWAC for creating the SCG when it doesn't benefit the coference from an competative standpoint. When i say the SWAC, I mean our administration as well. Don't act like Jacksonions on this board are reluctant to bash our own administration.

MH, in reference to the previous thread which was closed about comments of JSU's playoff record, this was SOG's initial and FIRST post about playoffs which YOU cosigned and ultimately agreed to in principle which thus means you feel and harbor the same sentiments!

It's so funny again, how every time the topic of the playoffs come up, JSU's OOC record is the first to be brought up! I wonder if the board owner agrees with me! :)

Oh, ok. Cause you're right. I dont know when you're "supposely" shedding light and when your just talking. They both seems the same to me. But anyway, like /99 said earlier. We bash our own, so we know exactly where the blame lays. We dont look through colored glasses or use "colored bulbs" to shed light on things. We come straight, hard, and clear with what we have to say. If our administration is the problem, then we lay the blame there. If the conference is the blame, then we lay the blame there. Let's keep it real here.

Good answer. However, the SCG wasn't a bad idea. That bad part was not having enough OOC game to play. However, now that this is no longer the case, SWAC admin are making the mistake of schedule games against each other that will not count in the standing.

You can probably blame the SWAC office for allowing it to happen. But ultimately the AD and coaches need to be above this convience when building the footballs schedule.

Now, the question is not just pointed at the J-State folks. It is for all of us. I have heard people from all schools say this about the SWAC. And while I am not a fan of the leadership in the SWAC (which is a different subject) there are still times I think the SWAC gets blamed for stuff that it shouldn't.

Um...do you really know the difference? :confused: Because on one hand, I think that you think you do, but as evidenced by your flawed thinking on the previous thread, I'm not so sure that what YOU think you may think you know is actually accurate or at least, truthful in its entirety! :smug:
