Bring it to Houston. The game will attract many HBCU fans plus the 1000s and 1000s of HBCU alumni in Houston. Plus people from Dallas, San Antonio and Louisiana. Plus the swac east and west representatives.

NOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPE!

Hadn't we won the East it could have been 40k. Our coaches would have made the game a match.

Houston doesn't support sports teams. But I would love for it to be in a real city though.

Honestly, I think 25K is a solid number for an SCG as anti-climactic as this one. Grambling came into the game undefeated in conference play while JSU brought a mediocre (and I'm being generous here) team to Birmingham. It was a predictable outcome.

ell No. PV's and tSU's attendence numbers are putrid. Jackson is the best place for this game.

Play the game in the home stadium of the school with the best regular season record. 25K in an on campus stadium would have been a rocking crowd. Legion Field is too big for our game.

If the game was moved, things wouldn't change. It's just a simply fact. Some schools travel better than others. Outside the Jaguar Nation, and possibly JSU, who would travel to Houston two weeks before Christmas for a football game. There are thousands of HBCU alumni in every major city in the south, so thats not a plus or a minus. Everybody needs to do something to get there fanbase excited enough to travel.

Kill the classic and have the SCG the same day as everyone else.

But how many people attend other FCS championship games?

Nobody would be there if Jackson state isn't playing. And, who would want to see a defacti JSU home game if they did make it. A good place to have the game would be Biloxi. plenty to do, somebody always performin at a casino but the dont have a stadium big enough to hold it

Hell No... Houston cant even support PV or TSU........ I mean really since we are talkin bout this for the Umptenth time....
Jackson to me is the most centralized location....
but Houston Hell nah....

I agree with a 25,000 seat stadium - relient wouldn't be good for the swac championship. Even 45,000 people at that stadium looks empty.

I still say bring it to Houston - I guarentee if that game was in Houston it would've been more than 25,000 people there.

SuJag, it has nothing to do with our attendence. Hell, if we can get that many people to travel to Birmingham (there is no swac school there) - so what would be the difference with Houston?

There are Millions and Millions more people in Houston than Birmingham - plus the east and west fans will bring more than 25,000.

I bet if this game was in Houston there would be more people. Also, I bet you if PV or TSU would make it to the Swac Championship game in Houston, it would be more than today's game. Everyone loves a winner and the past four years that really didn't happen for us, I bet if SU had the past 4 years like we did, there numbers would be less. PV is working its way out of their hole and more and more will began coming out.

Man, the game needs to be indoors..hands down. Black folks will not sit in the cold and watch a game like this. 25K is decent for this game since Gram really doesn't travel, but look to have a way better following this year than last year.
I'm hoping that they move this game to the same weekend of other conference championship games which would be the week after the bayou classic and then bring the Black Championship Game back and play it in New Orleans. Hell attach a battle of the bands to it with New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and other Louisiana High schools and the two representing college bands and you will draw a crowd.

You don't know what you are talking about. Jackson is a SWAC town, unlike B-ham. All these schools are less than 2 hours from Jackson(Southern, ALcorn, Valley, Grambling,Jackson State).

Plain and simple. If this game were held in either Jackson or Shreveport you've got 40K people...easy.

I'm afraid of Jackson because of the outdoor weather, but as a former Jacksonian I believe the venue and proximity is great for this game.
