Remember, Remember the 11th of September

What where you doing on Sept. 11, 2001? I remember that that was the day after I found out I passed the bar. I was still happy about that so I got up Early. I was at my parents house in MIssissippi, and they had both gone to work. I was surfing on the SWACPAGE, and Good Morning America was just kinda on the TV in the background, when they said a missle had hit the WTC. I was watching whe the 2nd plane hit the other tower and my mouth just fell open.

When I saw that the Pentagon had been hit, I was running around the house screaming like a lunatic. I have never been so mad in my entire life. It really seems like it was just yesterday. I can remember all the events so vividly. The next day F-16 were doing combat air Patrols over my city. I could actually see the missles on the underside of the fighter, its a strange and scary thing to see.

I was IM'ing you, waiting to go to the dentist, and freaking out because I wanted to go get my children.

I was at work talkin on the phone with a customer and they just got really quiet on the phone. At the same time I got an instant message from a friend saying someone flew a plane into the tower. I was sitting there asking "how the heck do you fly a plane into something like that". A few minutes later everyone was on news websites and some people were in the breakroom watching the news on tv. I remember just shutting down. I wouldn't watch the news or listen to the radio for days.

I didn't wake up til 10 a.m. that day.
Popped on the TV with the remote and it took bout 30 minutes before I realized it was real when I focused in and it was one of the morning shows showing live shot's out their window of the WTC.

Got up, bought a six, went over to my LB's house who was still with the AIR National Guard Transport in Jackson.
That nicka was freakin' out.

Asked me: "Bruh........You think we going to war"!?!.........he knew.:nod2:
I had to laugh and told him: "Man...........They just turned an entire Carrier fleet around in the middle of the Atlantic...........what you think"?

He had only 1 month to go before he was getting out...................He got out 1 month and 1 hour from that day.:nod2:

Something I didn't post for the same topic in Prayer Forum. My fiancee' called me and said that the planes had hit the WTC. I looked out of my gov't office window and saw the Pentagon with smoke and flames coming out. I saw people in bumper to bumper traffic on I-395. I saw people hurdling the guardrails on I395 trying to get to safety. There was absolute chaos and my mouth was completely open, because I couldn't believe what I was watching. Emergency vehicles everywhere. Me and my prayer group held prayer at our usual spot and I finally left to go home @ 11:00. It took me 4 hours to get home. Rte 1 to the Woodrow Wilson Bridge and on to I 495 was a mess. I was so tired after that. One of my best friends worked at the White House and my fiancee had just left the White House for another job.

I can only imagine the chaos that was there on that particular day. It's chaotic on a normal day so I can really imagine. :(

Woke up late ~9amish to calls from people in Chicago telling the former that her company's planes were being intentionally crashed into bldgs. It's ironic that she'd flown that long-haul on the "stretch" (#93) from Laguardia(?) to Cali from Apr 2001-Aug 2001. :| The reason she wasn't @ work on that particular day was that our daughter was diagnosed w/ a life threatening disease some 30 days previous and that excused her from that schedule.

She was sick as a dog (knew some of the flt attdts and the brother co-captain) watching and hearing all of that stuff go on. I took my arse to work @ ~10:30am after watching some of the events unfold on tv and upon entering there, there were these saudi dudes who'd been arrested earlier in the a.m. because they were speaking their native tongues towards my director. :retard: Left that scene as I didn't trust the enviro being around all those foreign dudes and played basketball from 11:30am-3:00pm (as usual).

I didn't watch too many of the events unfold that day. I refused to. I had a larger fish to deal w/ (my daughter and her illness). Actually, I could've cared the hell less what they were flying and where it was landing and prolly still don't. My daughter and that situation was all that was important to me. That's all I can recall of Aug-2001 going forward.

I was in the student center at school on my way to class. I saw people gathered around all of the tvs.... I heard a plane hit the twin towers, but I didnt pay it any attention... I didnt even know what or where the twin towers was. When I got back to my room, it was all over the news... It still didnt sink in how important the event was. I went to another class later that evening, our teacher explained what was going on, he started BALLING crying, and let class out early... I think thats when I realized how big the event was.

I remember being at work. Of course, I was on tspn and I remember some of our initial comments. At work, I remember us all congregating in an office, watching CNN in TOTAL disbelief.
Our building soon closed and I distinctly remember going outside and it was sooooo eerie. The wind was blowing hard and the silence was deafening.

Always remember. Prayers continue to made for those who lost their lives, and those who are missing their loved ones.

Well I had just got back from my Honeymoon. I was playing daddy daycare that morning. My wife left the TV on in Natalie's room. I walked in to get her and feed her when I look at the TV and saw the WTC on fire. I was like what the heck. Surely it's just on fire. Then all of a sudden they show plane #2 and I was like oh my god. At that time I worked for Airborne Express so later that day I found out we were grounded until further notice. Talk about showing up to work just to ride the clock and talk about this. It will always be with me.

Talk about changing the dynamic at work. From that time on the FAA,TSA was up our arse. So many rules and regulations came down after that it was maddening. All the forms and known shipper lingo...It made our jobs harder and riskier. Especially after the anthrax thing came up. We didn't want to handle packages. It was scary round those parts for a while..

Seven year's gone and New York is no closer to rebuilding ground zero than it was 7 years ago.:smh:

They have catered to so many pitty groups, that place probably won't be rebuilt until 2020. :smh:

After august 2005, I forgot all about sept. 11....all I know was that I was in H.S.

~shrugs~

Another Year gone, Bin laden still on the fugging loose. SMH.

:shame:
Sallie Mae can find him. Student loan folks can find anybody.

Always remember. Prayers continue to made for those who lost their lives, and those who are missing their loved ones.

My heart goes out to everyone who lost a loved one on 9/11. Prayers up for all the families and friends who lost a loved one as they remember them on today.

I had just started working at Hibernia National Bank in their Indirect Lending Dept. One of my coworkers told me about it. I didn't believe her at first until she went on yahoo and there it was. We prayed in the bank lobby and you could just feel it in the air. Denham Springs PD was at the bank in a flash to make sure some folks don't try to rob the place.

I do remember us having frat meeting that same night and being that I was the Recording Secty, I couldn't leave, but I stuck it out.

I remember it like it was yesterday...It was a Tuesday morning...I was a freshman at Jackson State and living in Alexander East. So, I was just getting up for class and my roommate at the time was a CNN fanatic...laying there watching tv...I watch as the Twin Tower is on fire..and then shortly after...plane two hits the second Tower...I sat at the edge of my bed like WTH???

I continued to get dressed for class and proceeded to go to class..only for us to start talking about it in class..my professor at the time has a son working in New York international exchange at the time..and had not heard of what was going on. As we continued to talk about it, my professor started screaming and ran out the door trying to call her son...but couldnt get through...class was cancelled for the remainder of the day...i had her for my only two classes that day.

We found out that her son was late for work that day..so he was not apart of what was going on.
