Quarterback Lamar Raynard scored on a 1-yard sneak with 38 seconds remaining to help North Carolina A&T beat Grambling State 21-14 to win the Celebration Bowl and second HBCU national championship in the last three years.
Aggies running back Marquell Cartwright was named the Celebration Bowl Offensive MVP after rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries.
North Carolina A&T (12-0) won its fourth national title in school history, also being crowned in 1990, 1999 and most recently 2015.
For Grambling (11-2), it committed three costly turnovers that led to all 21 Aggies’ points.
Senior quarterback Devante Kincade threw for 225 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 93 yards on 16 attempts.
It was a good game and Grambling had to many miscues, NCAT is a very good football team and congrats to team for winning the Celebration Bowl, they did not win an HBCU National Championship the game is sanctioned officially as the Celebration Bowl
