Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding the Onnidan/BCSIDA live score update messaging service.
LIVE SCORE UPDATE OVERVIEW
What type of messages will I receive from the live score update service?
Based on which sport you choose, you will receive score updates by text message via SMS, or Short Message Service technonogy. The message will be sent to the mobile phone number that you provide in our subscription form. You also have the option to receive the updates by e-mail at the address that you provide when you subscribe. You should receive wireless messages as long as you are located within your wireless carrier's digital coverage area.
How do I know if my mobile phone and wireless carrier supports SMS messaging?
Call your wireless carrier or visit their web site to see if the technology is supported.
Is there a way that I can test the system before subscribing?
Yes, you can. Just enter your phone number and wireless carrier and you should get a test message from our system. Click Here to run a test.
When will the updates be sent?
Live score updates will be sent when score information is received by our system. At a minimum, you should receive final scores of all HBCU games, within the conference/affiliation(s) you choose, soon after the game has ended. You may also receive partial score updates.
Is there a charge for receiving SMS messages via the live score update service?
We charge you a one-time fee to send you live score updates as stated on our subscription page. Your wireless carrier may also charge you a fee, in addition to the price of our service, for use of SMS. Please check with your wireless carrier to find out what additional charges may apply.
Can I change my update preferences from the ones that I initially chose?
Yes, you can. Just send us an e-mail to scores@onnidan.com and we will make the adjustment. Make sure you include your name, mobile phone number and e-mail address.
How will I know that I have received an SMS message?
You should check with your wireless carrier for specific instructions on how your mobile phone communicates that a message has been received. Some phones beep and display an icon to indicate receipt of a message. Others communicate differently.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel your subscription at any time by sending an e-mail to scores@onnidan.com with the word "CANCEL" in the subject header. Be sure to include your mobile phone number in your request.
Fees are non refundable after two weeks.
Why am I not seeing SMS content on my mobile phone?
Your phone may not have SMS capabilities. Contact your wireless carrier for more information regarding the capabilities of your mobile phone. If your phone is SMS capable and content cannot be viewed, memory within your mobile phone may be full and your mobile phone may be unable to store a received message for viewing. Clean out your inbox by erasing old messages. This should free up storage space for content on your mobile phone.
If my phone is turned off or I am on a call will I still receive live score updates?
Please check with your wireless carrier for information on your mobile phone's ability to capture SMS messages received while the mobile phone is turned off or while you are on a call.
