APPROACHING THE FIRST GAME MANY LOYAL SUPPORTERS OF POSTED WITHOUT HESITATION ON THEIR TEAMS PERCEIVED DOMINANCE OF THE UPCOMING SWAC SEASON. THEREFORE I EXPECTED WITHOUT ANY DOUBTS TO FIND SEVERAL POST CONCERNING LAST NIGHTS PERFORMANCES;HOWEVER NONE WERE FOUND. PROBABLY BECAUSE REALITY HAS SET IN SO SOON. WITH THAT SAID IS THER ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN HONESTLY POST WHAT YOU WITNESSED LAST NIGHT IN TERMS OF STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

STRENGTHS:

FOR THOSE TEAMS EXPECTING TO SEE UAPB CONTINUALLY GRIND IT OUT ON THE GROUND,IT WON'T HAPPEN.THERE IS A LEGITIMATE QB AT THE HELM AND DEFENSES WILL HAVE TO RESPECT HIS ABILITY TO RUN AND THROW THE DEEP PASS.

THE DEFENSE IS SOLID AT LB, AND AT THE CORNERS. TEAMS WILL FIND IT DIFFICULT TO RUN AND BEAT THE CORNERS.

WEAKNESS:

A PISS POOR SPECIAL TEAMS IN REGARD TO KICK- OFF AND PUNT RETURN COVERAGE.

IF WE CAN CORRECT THAT GLARING PROBLEM WE AND ONLY WE ARE OUR OWN WORST ENEMY

SU vs NW

The Jaguars have improved significantly based on their performance last night when compared to the same time last year.


Defensive line - strong, talented, and fast. Are inexperienced and are learning to play together. Last year they did not know what they were doing. This group is going to be one of SU's best D-Lines ever.

LB - most talented part of the defense and are six deep.

DB's - fast but lacking experience. Playing more man to man this year.

Offensive line - also improved, with some new faces. Will hold their own this year.

Running back - jury still out. Unproductive last night.

Return game- excellent

Kicking game - help! HELP!

Game synopsis - A block punt for a TD and blown pass coverage by a rookie safety led to the game winning TD. Defense did it's job in forcing turnovers. Running game just did not materialized.
Hayes lost is critical, but SU has enough wide receivers to continue to have an efficient passing attack. Devin Lewis is a definite deep threat and big play guy. Look for A. Williams to move in as the #1 tail back.

Unless the running game improves SU will not return to the SWAC championship game. However, this will not be a 1-4 September as last years was. Look for SU to defeat APB this week.:idea:
