BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas Southern’s Malcolm Riley has been recognized by the Southwestern Athletic Conference as the men’s basketball player of the week for his outstanding performance in competition this past weekend and leading his team to victories.
The 6 junior was a key part of the Tigers success this past weekend. Riley averaged 12.5 points per game to go along with 12 rebounds per game. He tallied a double-double in both of the Tigers contest versus Grambling State and Jackson State, respectively.
Riley scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds against their one point win over Jackson State, 71-70, on Saturday night. Monday, he had another incredible performance when he scored 16 points and pulled down 10 boards in their 81-58 win against Grambling State.
