The first installment of the HBCU Sports Fan Football Pol has been released with voters giving Bethune-Cookman top billing in the FCS poll and Winston-Salem State the top rank in the Division II preseason poll.
The fan poll, which will be conducted weekly throughout the regular season, gives fans the chance to vote for their top 10 HBCU teams at the FCS and Division II levels.
With the top rank BCU garnered 32 first-place votes, followed by Tennessee State in second (with 14 first-place votes), Jackson State (5), North Carolina A&T (3) and South Carolina State to round up the top five.
In the Division II preseason poll, Winston Salem State captured all 14 first-place votes followed by Tuskegee, Virginia State, Albany State, Miles, Fort Valley State and Miles ranked fifth.
